Todd and Justin discuss various MOSS Development topics, particularly the development “hump” many developers just starting out on SharePoint development have to overcome.
I listened to the podcast this morning on the way in to work and found it overall enjoyable and informative. I’m an MCSD I’ve just been thrust into the role of Sharepoint developer and was pleased with the level of detail given on topics, just enough to pull in the novice at sharepoint and still keep the more advanced users engaged. It was just what I needed, especially on dev environments and “features” being something that I MUST understand. Since it is a new podcast, the production values are still a little rough but I saw it smooth out just from the start to the end of this episode and expect it to be good in the future. Please loose the bluetooth and get a real mic though!
As a beginner I’ve Googled SharePoint podcasts and found this one. It’s another example of an informative and promising podcast on a subject that has come along at just at the right time for me. This episode helped to answer a lot of initial questions I had, and I’m sure I’ll become a regular listener. Suggestions on content to come as I delve further.
Thanks for taking the initiative with your podcast. As you mentioned in this episode, the development experience for the SharePoint platform is filled with challenges still. I also agree that SharePoint is a fantastic platform to build solutions on, so hopefully we will see improvements in the development tooling and process guidance that is available.
This podcast definately has the potential to help us better understand the best practices as they are being evolved. Keep up the great work and please continue with you efforts!
